Bought this scope for a Marlin .22 rifle to replace a “normal” length 3-9×40 scope. I needed a shorter scope and this one seemed to fit the bill.It came with rings, but I guess I should have checked the Q&A’s first, because the rifle had 3/8″ dovetail mounting, and this scope came with a picatinny mount. No big deal, I just took the rings off the other scope, and that worked. One problem with this was, that the scope was positioned very forward on the rifle, and I had to lean in to the scope to get within the 2-3′ eye relief.A few dry runs at home, and a standing position, didn’t pose too big of a problem with relief, so I took the package to the range to get it sighted in.Took me a couple of mags worth to get it sighted in at about 20 yards (OK, about 50 rounds :)… ), but when I got it adjusted correct it was right on the money.I emptied one mag (10 rds) at bench rest, and I could cover all hits with a Quarter, which for me is pretty impressive, since I am by all accounts only an average shooter. One issue did come up, and it was the pesky eye relief. At bench rest it was hard to get my eye close enough to the scope, so I had to order a picatinny rail with an extended rail to mount on the dovetail. The will bring the scope a few inches back, and I can reuse the picatinny rings it came with. The scope is great for my use, and the cost is very reasonable. Others pointed out the fat cross hairs, and they are correct, but it isn’t a problem for me.Please be aware of the eye relief when ordering, since this scope can only move 1/4″ back and forth when seating it in the rings.I have added a photo so you can see the sight picture with the cross hair and range marks.
