I got the 42-piece set and while I still think it’s a great value for some entry-level tools, it has way too many duplicates and I wish there had been an option for a 30-piece set that incorporated the ribbon tools and cutting tool in the 22-piece set. I chose the larger set because I needed the wire cutter, rib, and rolling pin.Pros:- Great value esp. considering many of the tools are double-ended- I keep this as a backup set at home and use higher-end (Xiem and Kemper) tools in my rented studio, so they don’t get a ton of use, but they’ve survived over a dozen multi-hour sessions and seem like they’ll last—no wiggly attachment points yet- comes with nearly everything you need to get started and then some!Cons:- there are several needle tools and identical carving tools that just fluff up the item count- would have preferred they replace the dupes with the ribbon tools in the 22-pc set, a silicone rib, and some other trimming/fluting tools- the metal rib is on the flimsy side- the trimming tools aren’t as sharp as Kemper, but better than I expected for the price- the wood seems pretty raw and is unvarnished—make sure not to leave in water or I could see them splitting, and a bit of sanding wouldn’t hurt for comfort (especially on the rolling pin, which leaves woodgrain imprints)
